A smoker may be a good person but smoke is always bad.

It is an open fact that active smokers are prone to various deadly diseases but recent studies suggest that passive smokers are also in the risk of getting deadly diseases. An active smoker is a person who is addicted to the habit of smoking and a Passive Smoker is a person who inhales the smoke emitted by an active smoker.

Smoking causes disease, disability and death in both active and passive smokers. Some of the disease are Cancer,Heart Problems, Lung Infections,Skin Disorders,Premature Birth,Infant death etc. It It is estimated that Active Smoking causes 6 million death per year and Passive Smoking causes 600,000 death per year.In Passive Smoking most often the victims are from the close circle of active smoker especially Children and Women.

Some argue that smoking gives relaxation and others have learned it considering it as style.A smoker will involuntarily falls into addiction and will find very difficult to rescue himself. They fail to recognize that it will give them only temporary pleasure and soon they will be introduced to a lifelong stress.

An active smoker in later period of life is forced to spend his wealth acquired through his hard work to medical bills due to the deadly diseases he is going to acquire because of smoking.Smokers do not think that how horrible it will be for them to undergo the suffering of the deadly diseases they are going to acquire because of smoking.

Active Smokers are now making others also to suffer with them and unfortunately the victims are often from their close circle. The smoke emitted through them by smoking is causing deadly diseases to those who inhale the smoke. It is a kind of cruel murderous act.It cannot be claimed that it is not a crime as there is no legal punishment. No punishment is more worse than guilty conscious.

Breaking Rules and Pointing Fingers.

India has the highest record of death due to road accidents and it is increasing year to year. This was reported in Global Status Report on Road Safety by World Health Organization.Who has to be blamed for this? Government or Law Enforcement or Citizens. Usually we consider larger issues like Drunk and Drive, Speeding as some of the cause but we should also take Smaller issues which leads to accident into consideration.

Indians are less knowledgeable towards Road Signs and Symbols. The Riders before obtaining a learners license will be taught of rules and regulations but they will forget at once they pass the test; they do not consider its importance and will not take it to their mind. If you ask riders to interpret a sign, they will find it so difficult. A person who follows the rules strictly will be forced to break the rules by other riders and he is the one who gets more scoldings than people who break rules.

The older generation often blames the younger generation for causing accidents but it is not true in all case. People from all age groups break the rules. The only difference is that the older generation does it in different method because they cannot attempt what the younger generation is doing. It is sad to note People who crossed their youth and has to be a role model for younger generation is so irresponsible in road.

People who crossed their youth can be divided into two groups. One group competes with the youth. When the yellow light is illuminated they raise their accelerators so that they can cross the signal before the red light is illuminated. When the red light is illuminated they try to occupy the front line and never stops before the stop line, they cross over the line and halt their vehicle on the Pedestrians crossings. The Pedestrians will find it difficult to cross before the illumination of green light.

When the green light is illuminated they at once raise their accelerators and move in a greater speed. The other group rides their vehicle very slowly and will not allow any vehicle to overtake them. Maintaining the vehicle is another important factor but no one cares about it before getting into the road they never check their brakes, petrol level, head light, indicators and especially do not adjust the rear mirrors and in some vehicle many important things will be lacking.

In India, No one cares about other riders; they take a sudden turn or cross the road without giving any signal or seeing the rear mirrors. They never care about going on a wrong side in one way and parking at no parking area. Vehicles will be parked in the road and they will open the doors of the vehicle suddenly without noticing anything coming behind them. Some vehicles will be parked on the corners of the road making other vehicles difficult to overtake, cross or turn in the road.

The riders will not care about warning board and carry passengers more than the limit.Factors like Drunk and Drive,            Speeding,Talking in Mobile,Chatting while driving,Friends riding side by side.Getting Tensed,Looking at the opposite sex and not concentrating on road should also be taken into consideration. The Government has to take steps to build planned roads and also the law enforcement should be given freedom to take severe action on those who break rules.

Everyone wishes a safe journey but whether everyone paves way for it is a question to be answered Citizens breaking the law for their self-gain and pointing the fingers on others will only cause more damage. In order to avoid road tragedies, Citizens of India should stop their blame game and everyone should be responsible in following the road rules.Traffic rules should be taught in educational institutions and examination should be conducted on road rules.

Only Idiots break rules of the road.

Chelladrai spends lot of money for his friends. As usual Chelladurai was in the tea shop one evening,a relative of him came running towards him crying and informed Chelladurai that his father is dead.Chelladurai was now left with his Mother and an elder sister. The whole village was in grief. In the mean time Chelladurai’s Uncle (father’s younger brother) who was a history sheeter hatched a conspiracy to kill the remaining members of his Brother’s family in order to acquire the wealth.

This conspiracy has reached the ears of Chelladurai’s friends and without any delay they escorted Chelladurai and his family to a city far from their village. The villagers were afraid to oppose Chelladurai’s Uncle because of his involvement in anti-social activities. In the city for the first time,Chelladurai witnessed the hardship of  life.He was so depressed about his future. In order to relive him from depression, his friends introduced him to smoking which he resisted at first but later yielded and became an addict.Chelladurai’s Mother and Sister started working for a mere amount in a nearby shop.Chelladurai with the funding from his friends and villagers pursued his studies and landed in a high salaried job.

Chelladurai never forgot the help he got from his friends and villagers.Chelladurai was not interested to return to his village but he helped his villagers to get employment in the city.Soon Chelladurai’s sister got married and Chelladurai fell in love with one of his colleague and married her.A son was born to Chelladurai. On hearing from the villagers that his son resembles like his Grandfather,Chelladurai was too proud of his son.Chelladurai admired his father a lot and he has took his father as a role model and talk about him among his friends often.

Chelladurai though well settled now,was unable to leave his smoking habit.Chelladurai’s wife often advice him to quit smoking saying that it is harmful to him.Chelladurai too wanted to get rid of it but his addiction towards it,has tied him tightly. Some of his colleagues advised him to meet a consultant in order to quit smoking.Chelladurai considered it as dignity and refused to do so.

One day he got a call, his whole body began to sweat.Hurriedly he went into his superior room and requested for half a day leave and left the office tensed without saying a word to anyone.Chelladurai directly went to the place from where he got a call.It was from a private hospital. In the call, his wife has informed him that their son was in a serious condition due to lung problem, within minutes of his arrival, his son was pronounced dead.Chelladurai demanded the cause for the death from the hospital authorities.Doctor’s who treated his son informed him that his son died due to  passive smoking.Chelladurai’s heart broke into pieces.

Chelladurai’s guilty conscious pricked him to a great extent. He thought of committing suicide but remembered his wife and Old Mother and left the thought. He was mentally disturbed and behaved abnormally. His colleagues brought him to a psychatrist and was made to undergo Psychatric treatment. After years of treatment he gradually turned to be a normal human being. He as a new being realised his mistakes and started an anti-smoking movement.Though he recovered from his abnormality,He is still haunted by the guilt of being the cause for his Child’s death who resembled like his father whom Chelladurai admired much. This incident has created a lifelong stress in him.
